apple introduced additional layer of security iphone, ipad , mac users in 2013 rolling out two-step verification apple id accounts. two-step verification prevents accessing apple id account, if know password, requiring four-digit verification code sent via sms or find iphone on trusted devices. when enable two-step verification, must register @ least 1 trusted device capable of receiving sms text messages.

once activated, two-step authentication required when managing apple id through my apple id, signing icloud, or making itunes, ibooks or app store purchases new device. apple has expanded two-step authentication imessage , facetime, requiring users input authentication code verified device on accounts have two-factor verification enabled prevent unauthorized entry attempts through both services.

this security isn't worth hassle me. i'm prompted sign in facetime , imessages on home mini, mb air, , work imac. notifications on each plus iphone , ipads signed in on 1 of computers. , continuing minor annoyance factor, imessages still doesn't reliably sync read/deleted messages, delete google or evernote two-step verification texts 4 or 5 times.
adding new layer of notifications tend think don't want.
