Help on buying a new (Used) Mac

i have mid 2007 macbook (2,1) realy showing it's age, , made 500$, looking upgrade. i've been browsing ebay , can't decide mac buy, don't have preference either being desktop or laptop. can please guide me in right direction, :):)
 

what screen size prefer? i'd 2012 mbp "13 great laptop buy used. can still upgrade both ram/ssd , have tb/usb3. on swedish 2nd hand market can 1 aprox 550. if can manage without usb3 go 2011 version of same configuration way cheaper because lack of usb3.
