a few years had eyetv hybrid. haven't used years, in position i'd once again. unfortunately, no longer have original stick. attempted shop around new 1 , on elgato site says "not available in country". more digging shows current eyetv products europe/asia , aren't sold in us. i'm curious 2 things: 1) know why? these used available in apple store. changed? introduction of cable channel apps require username/password cable company? if so, pain... sort of being able use laptop instead of tv @ least basic cable and/or ota satellite. 2) there affordable alternatives? i'm on contract , in cramped space. there no room i'm @ tv unless mount on wall , there's no wallspace that's in right location. have internet access , basic cable (the free basic automatically if have signal internet). i'd able go cable eyetv usb or thunderbolt , watch regular, basic cable on macbook pro. non-kludgy work-arounds? in short... need solution watch better call saul w/o having wait appear on tpb next day. (ok, kidding... don't condone piracy). worth noting: have current gen 13' mbp i7 , yosemite.
i believe el gato used hauppauge hybrid tv stick compatible eyetv software.
