Anyone else's Apple TV remote dying?

my apple tv 2's remote getting weaker , flakier. has new battery in it, range has shortened considerably. have within 6 feet of apple tv clicks register. also, vertical range in effective small, 2 feet.

possibly failing in remote's innards? it's if infrared transmitter weakening.
 

can't answer question, mine seems weaker on when got year or more ago. wonder if knows remote range anyway ? have apple tv placed around 12 feet away chair (new battery) , takes few presses in order work. hope new apple tv remote better.
