2.2ghz or 2.5ghz 15" Macbook Pro retina help

i looking upgrade have 1 of first macbook pro models. i'm not huge computer hardware guy i'm not sure specs mean , input users not sales people. use multiple adobe apps such illustrator photoshop , indesign along few games. model best prefer cheaper if run faster on other i'm willing. , if know if apple come out updated version year
 

gaming issue

to honest modern apps using open cl absolutely fine on base rmbp iris pro graphics. gaming see definite benefit of dedicated gpu in higher end model boost cuda enabled apps.

not can't game on base model can play older games @ reasonable settings , decentish frame rate , newer ones @ low settings. if want play latest demanding titles @ better settings , ok framerate need higher end 1 dgpu (750m).

note that graphics card bit out of date , has been superceded better mobile gpu's apple have yet utilise, these may turn in next generation.

post base model fine you, difference in cpu clockspeed make little difference in day day use , quad haswell processors both blisteringly quick.

Battery Cycles

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. (i have been told batteries in newer macbooks glued in place , replacing battery hard job , cost lots of money, mistake...

SSD Performing Poorly
