iPhoto thumbnails disappear - missing photos

iphoto crashed few days ago, , had rebuild library. after done, events out of order photos still in tact. however, there 100 photos in 1 event missing. represented black squares. thumbnails show instant while scrolling through event, thumbnails disappear , turn black. when selected photo, showed black exclamation warning sign.

time machine, tried restore iphoto library older backup. same 100 photos seem corrupt in every single backup since photos taken. make harder me understand, viewed these 100 photos in iphoto last week , fine, know haven't been corrupt since imported iphoto.

these photos recoverable?
