Iphone 4 can't download later version of Garageband ??

i'm pretty frustrated atm. i've been trying while garage band on iphone 4 unaware update causes app require ios 8 before bought phone , can go 7. still can't understand why apple made ? it's pointless , seems me it's abrupt way of saying "buy iphone 6". thought have ability download later updates of app suits ios ? after failing buy through app store on phone tried on itunes on pc after looking method on how around this. still can't manage put app on phone without being greeted "this app requires ios 8". there's no options @ downgrading through itunes ?

when go download app latest version requires ios 8, should/will prompt stating attempt download recent version compatible os.

im running ios 6.1.3 on ipod touch 4th gen , downloaded twitterrific onto , prompted this. ended downloading older version of because im running older os.

there comes time due hardware limitations, os versions cannot run or @ on device. iphone 4 "old" enough devs have moved on newer platforms. not choose not support older ios versions, cant due hardware limitations on older devices.
