How to copy Windows XP Disc to Another Disk Utility

i have 40.00 gb hard drive windows xp on windows xp machine. need move 1.00 tb hard drive when put 1 tb machine doesn't think has changed other there being more space.

have attempted in disk utility. used 2 caddys, formatted new 1 tb drive nfts , used restore function use 40 tb source , new drive destination took on hour hp hardware not find windows , said attempting boot hard disk , stuck there.

read cloning disk , not partition not understand it.

please give me laymans terms guides on how can clone 40 gb on 1tb disk using mac program (preferably disk utility) bearing in mind have 2 usb caddys hp hardware works fine new 1tb hard disk. clarify fact using mac purely incidental has no interaction xp stuff on normal basis.
