Windows 7 guy goes to OSX and is now LOST

i decided wanted rmbp main system lots of reasons, 1 being hate windows 8/10. (although, love windows 7). anyway, when stick memory card camera in camera iphoto pops up, gives me options import, that. images stuck in iphoto , can't find files on hd. want load images on computer in folder on windows 7. on windows 7 stick memory card in, hit import, windows automatically imports images folder has date, , can select images want edit photoshop. that's want. that's it. guys, i'm sure it's easy, i'm osx virgin. (and no don't want use lightroom)
 

if you're importing photos iphoto, stored in iphoto library in pictures folder. if want view original files inside of iphoto library, can following:

open finder window > places/user name/pictures/iphoto library, ctrl-click , select "show package contents", go files in originals.

otherwise, if didn't want use iphoto @ all, can use finder drag , drop photos memory card folder on computer other os.
