5K iMac and iPhoto question

i have 27" imac 5k running mac os x 10.10.2 , iphoto 9.6.1 when looking @ photos can bring them small. know resolution of 5k monitor high , can zoom. wife doesn't way looks , don't want zoom every picture. ideas on how change appearance? has photo resolution.

help.
 

the trouble iphoto doesn't give control on zooming of photos themselves. in lightroom, you'd able keep application window same size, zoom enclosed photo 1:1, or fit, or 1:2, or whatever.

if photo small rimac need zoom show in same dimensions on non retina imac. on rimac gonna 4x smaller since amount of pixels per sq inch 4x greater. double size scaling (4x in area) looks pretty same on old imac.

need try editing program more retina aware iphotos. it's shame apple's own product rather stunted in regard. take @ demo of graphicconverter , you'll see how handles differently.
