New Photos App Deleting question

hi,

not dumb question , overlooking something. have icloud library turned on, on iphone, ipad , imac.

question have plenty of space on imac , permanently keep original photos take phone in photos app. problem once in photo app on mac , delete them off phone delete off including imac. overlooking something? how keep copy of photos on imac not on phone or ipad?

 

you can not delete images on 1 device, deletions sync other devices connected icloud photo library. however, here alternative suggestions problem:

1 solutions choose keep originals on imac , choose optimize storage on ios devices. keep full resolution photos on mac, keep device optimized versions on devices taking less space (the devices download bigger versions icloud needed).

solutions use two libraries on mac. 1 system library synced icloud photo library contains images want on devices, , 1 additional local library rest of images want on mac. (hold down alt button while pressing photos in dock access library tools)
