Unlock watch from iPhone pointless?

as far can tell works after have put watch on , unlocked manually. @ point work after lock watch manually while still wearing. missing something? thanks.
 

i don't understand saying. sorry. purpose of feature is, example, in morning put watch on... , start day , unlock iphone. automatically unlock watch too. way don't have both. make easier put watch on , forget it. opposed if setting off, put watch on, unlock it, unlock phone, start day. or put watch on, forget unlock it, unlock iphone, , start wondering why aren't receiving notifications on watch.

bottom line save minor step believe.
