Apple watch and apple pay in the UK

so 2 of debit cards automatically renewed week , are, default, contactless. takes count of debit , credit cards contactless 4, leaving 1 that's standard chip , pin. think it's safe soon, every debit , credit card issued in uk going contactless.

leads me thinking, how apple pay, peddled through apple watch, going take off in uk? because in actual fact it's *easier* use debit or credit card, use iphone or apple watch, pay things. both aforementioned require button presses. debit card solution doesn't. in fact, don't need take card out of wallet if it's @ front.

appreciate in states still use system used last decade, signing receipts , like, apple pay big time saver them, not @ us, so wonder if it's going flop completely?
 

i don't know contactless systems on debit cards, kind of security have? same chip , pin? better? because me, big draw of apple pay security element, not convenience factor.
