Running in the background

hello,
i'd app run in background (from time iphone turned on, no manual action required). possible?
if not, can app launched whenever specific event occurs, such bluetooth connection?

in general, no.

there specific modes can specified app allow app run specific tasks in background, such continuous audio playing or recording or bluetooth connection active , nearby btle/4.0 device. however, can killed os (for instance if user starts music player won't mix, or runs out of memory playing gigantic game). types of intermittent voip , geolocation tasks survive reboot, have started user @ least once, , can locked out in privacy settings.

can have app monitor kinds of bluetooth connections (btle ibeacons) in background, whether happens after reboot might depend on ios version.

apple's built-in apps stay running after pure restart, , can't modified on stock device.
