Photos App 2 Different Mac's

i have imac , macbook air.

admit confused the

"download originals mac"
and
"optimise mac storage"

later says originals stored on mac if have enough storage.

curious line means. macbook air has limited storage space

icloud try fill many originals can?

have done in past while on vacation taken pictures , edited them on macbook air , transferred them imac.(and deleting them macbook air)

still able that? (again concerned space on macbook air)

 

perhaps not possible have photo collection function on 2 different macs @ same time?

macbook air has stopped updating when set on "optimize mac storage" message

"this mac no longer updating because there not enough space store optimized versions of photos , videos"

id macbook air function iphone or ipad(which seem work fine). can see of photos, can edit specific ones, none stored on actual device.

not possible on macbook air?
