Recursive Batch Lock/Unlocking Files

i looking easy way routinely bulk lock/unlock files might in multi-level folder structure. don't want command line chmod situation as, feel, likelyhood of dangerous errors in recursive operations high. simple app protect me (somewhat) command line errors great. located app called batchmod seems fill bill sorts of cautions osx downloading nefarious software. thoughts on subject welcome.
