Spaces: Multiple Desktops Created

i realized yosemite on time, create multiple desktops, 1, 2, 3 etc can see via mission control.

i'm not actively creating these spaces, pain manually click , x out each window. can't figure out why many desktops created, shortcut close of them @ same time.

ideas or hints? i'm stumped!

well, issue on mac pro has been fixed el capitan. that's 1 way address bug.
