rEFInd error on install

hello, i'm trying install refind (0.8.6, latest) on 2014 macbook air running os x 10.10.2. goal dual boot kali linux (for learning purposes), installed imaged usb. however, when run install.sh this:
code:
installing refind on os x.... warning: root device not found installing refind partition mounted @ /volumes/esp found refind installation in /volumes/esp/efi/boot; upgrading it. copied refind binary files notice: backed existing icons directory icons-backup. existing refind.conf file found; copying sample file refind.conf-sample avoid overwriting customizations. warning: if have advanced format disk, *do not* attempt check bless status 'bless --info', since known cause disk corruption on systems!! installation has completed successfully. unmounting install dir umount(/volumes/esp): resource busy -- try 'diskutil unmount'
i'm brand new kind of "under hood" computing, first linux install attempt, not super comfortable terminal, etc if kind enough point me in right direction n00b style that'd grrrrreat.

my first recommendation not install kali it's not intended run on metal , tools contained in kali in every distro's repo. second if want try stuff kali need comfortable in terminal , of tools cli based. third if want proficient in pen-testing world install few distros in virtual box , use , break them, move on cli based installer have put system together, understand why tools work.
