Unable to connect to wifi for software update

is else having trouble when going settings/general/check software update?
watch says unable check because not hooked wifi. though connected wifi , can pull down info on watch. know there no update yet not working me. i've talked apple , in connect engineering department this. seeing if it's problem others might having.
