i've started new job need make lot of virtual machines on macbook pro..... @ moment need make 60gb virtual machine, have 20gb of space....

i've been given this, i've never seen 1 before, i'm guessing it's time machine? possible me load external drive, or work time machine software?
 

it either timecapsule or airport extreme. if time capsule can remove drive , use drive, come in 1, 2, or 3tb sizes. extremes have no drives. otherwise nas type device , can share internal drive on network nas type device. not device plug in machine usb port use das.... unless want use ethernet cable connection.
