rMB - rMB Migration via USB-C

looking move data existing 1.2 rmb new 1.3 rmb arriving today, know migration assistant in terms of using tm backup disk, wifi, ethernet, etc - have heard rumors of using usb-c cable between 2 rmbs migration - have solid data on if possible?
 

i have no idea whether work, in theory (assuming rmb supports target disk mode) use usb male male cable , usb female usb c male apple dongle/adapter. worth paid it, though... ;)
