Safari stops opening pages

hi,

own 2012 retina mbp running os x 10.9.5. browser of choice safari , have been using quite time without issues but, since maybe last week, safari stops opening pages randomly.

able reproduce issue going through bookmarks , opening 1 one on same tab... point pages fail load , ones opened work. if try same pages on chrome load correctly.

tried resetting safari checkboxes selected didn't fix issue. wouldn't want chrome or other browser deal breaker.

read somewhere dns prefetching. issue? other idea?
