apple announced watch in september 2014. they've had ages make product. what's excuse?
 

my guess: software.

believe or not. watch ready @ first keynote.

if @ reviews , problems third party apps, i'm sure apple had different concept @ first. did not work out because have been horrible experience.

so, removed of software features, heavily relied on iphone provide templated app experience , removed execute code.

then, after finished mess, started producing , flashing firmware.

sure watch (this generation) not receive many software updates. underpowered , obsolete next year.

seriously: hardware ready ... , sport models not rely on sapphire. think dropped ball , redesigned whole software.
