iPad mini Mini 2 outdoors

am curious if retina display more readable outdoors original screen.

have cellular ipad 2 , toying idea of getting cellular mini 2, stick in waterproof bag , attach kayak deck gps/mapping use.

ipad impossible read in sunlight. retina screen change @ all?

i'm not sure make difference. if want anti-reflective screen, recommend ipad air 2. has laminated screen (which, trust me, make lot of difference) , anti-reflective coating. might come ipad mini sooner or later though
