looks there's default calendar called birthdays in calendar , it's driven off of birthday's field in contacts. want share calendar hovering on in calendar doesn't give me option (unlike other calendars).
if contacts shared through icloud assume birthday field shared too. if so, sharing birthday calendar though won't let me share through calendar application?
related afterthought question...could create new fields in contacts such "anniversary" , drive calendar off of in same way birthday does?
when "shared through icloud," mean several people using same icloud account? if so, can enable birthdays calendar in icloud: sign icloud.com , access calendars app. click preferences icon (gear) in lower left. you'll able enable birthday calendar. don't know of way share birthdays calendar.
nice if done in family sharing, @ time, there's no shared contacts list - you'd able add birthdays events in shared family calendar.
