How do I stop server shortcuts from being created on the desktop?

every time concerns media server imac creates, guess is, desktop shortcut folder on server have eject when i'm done. example, of music stored on server when open itunes , play song, creates shortcut on desktop music folder starts playing. same thing happens (except creates shortcut video folder) when play video through vlc server. happens when transfer file shared documents folder on server. not occur on mac mini. both on yosemite. it's not problem, there setting can change stop having eject these shortcuts when i'm done?
