Overheating problem

i installed owc data doubler in mac mini 5.1.

within month or so, mini started overheating. haven't been able find info online heat sensor or should possible physical problem.

also, in process of installing data doubler accidentally pulled off ir sensor coupler attachment. took local "mac guy," soldered place. related overheating problem?

suggestions
 

have looked see fan running? might use fan control program rev-up fans can hear them running without having open cover.

easy damage fan connector when working inside mac mini.
