High-pitched noise when opening certain software

i have late 2012 imac, 27". i'm satisfied it. there 1 problem not understand; when open software, take significant portion of screen, hear high-pitched sound coming computer. volume or lighting level not matter, not dependent on can determine except fact if select window offending software (kindle being typical example) not active noise disappears immediately. return if put window focus.

noise coming , how can stop it?
