Connecting to a PC

hello, can connect pc , other macs going finder , clicking on device appears in shared part on left hand side. click connect as, , type in username , password, , can connect fine. if person using windows , doesn't use password, can't connect. type in username , leave password field blank, , won't connect. doing wrong, or can connect? thank much.
 

connect anonymous instead.
