Backing up TM to external drive

i have 2 imacs both yosemite installed. backup tm on newer machine, okay fine. after backup can see newest photos in tm backup. far good. go check see if latest backup shows on older imac. plug in external older machine see if newest photos show in iphoto. latest new photos backed on newer machine doesn't show on older imac. shouldn't able see them on older computer also? open backup on old imac in iphoto latest photos aren't in there. doing wrong expecting whatever on external show on computer? whole reason photos.

you need explain more you're doing. when you're accessing photos on old imac, how doing (e.g. directory, application)?
