iOS iMessage Photo issue

hi guys, sorry bother hoping can me out. have picked issue photos in imessages disappear after point - seems (from online reading) might result of phone dying , apple has not sourced cure (awesome). i'm trying reclaim pictures , wondering if possible sign imessage on computer , have pull in historical messages still on phone? don't stay signed in on computer , when sign in now, none of past messages show up.

can give appreciated. super frustrating.
