OS X Mail just stopped working

the mail app on 2013 imac running yosemite has not been able sync microsoft outlook account last 2 days. have tried can think of, such taking account offline online , synchronizing accounts, nothing works. there way uninstall , re-install 1 of base os x apps mail?
 

run connection doctor window menu , see if it's connecting properly. if not, check settings or consider deleting outlook account reinstalling it. cannot (easily) delete mac mail.
