Suitable Mac Mini model for Plex streaming?

hi, use imac i7 main computer in apartment, has 4tb hard drive full of films stream devices via plex.

have macbook, ipad , iphones, it's full apple house.

having turn on imac stream movies pain me , housemate.. , starting spend more time away - away in australia year, next year, apartment more 'independent'.

i'm thinking getting mac mini running osx server set in hallway cupboard, media drives attached, no monitor or keyboard.

want stream films on network (hardwired , super-fast broadband) , potentially me, in country , others in apartment.

have running backup me, wherever , place store , access files whilst i'm travelling macbook.

essentially, 'heart' of apartment, covering data storage. although can't see need processing power this?

there reason couldn't use mac mini this?

i'd update latest osx server , stick more ram in.

know has weak graphics card, surely supplies data stream on network graphics card of macbook or xbox (running plex) decodes?

can't see mac mini have processing of own do, pushing files around, yeah?

if not, what's minimum spec required?

 

i opt newer model. model doesn't support os x versions newer 10.6.8 (snow leopard). also, might want ssd internal drive, faster response. if pre-unibody (2010 or earlier), have internal optical drive, use when need one.

okay, know how battery cycles , work. want know is: how many cycles battery has how old battery is how many mah macbook shipped with how many mah have now reading thread on different site macbook batteries , commenting battery info. of them commenting saying reached 120 cycles per year. 1 guy said mac 3 years old on 250 cycles (avg. 83 year). think person had 400 after 2 years. in 'system information' says age of macbook 3 months old (when arrived said 1 months old, i've had 2 months) , have 98 cycles, using many cycles? i'm asking because realised apple batteries more or less useless @ holding charge after 1000 cycles , if i'm averaging 100 every 2 months gives me 1.7 years until macbook more or less desktop... to me seems poor previous windows laptops owned lasted long , expect lot more machine on £1k. Weird behavior on external monitor
