Lost wireless scanner; wireless printer still there

have canon mg5420 wireless printer/scanner. few days ago, scanner portion disappeared , mba (2014) sees printer. i'm running yosemite, have spoken apple support , no luck. have downloaded canon drivers, reinstalled, fixed disk permissions, deleted relevant in library folder, rebooted (x 20) reset printer factory defaults , still no luck. have thought on might try next? scanner shared , used lot hurts.
 

try plugging in (usb) , see if resets something?
