Apple email broken?

since thursday noticed emails have been considerably less.

use gmail primary account , have emails forwarded @me.com address take advantage of push:

opened gmail morning after boss called asking me why hadn't responded email yesterday, find out message in gmail, along message saying message undeliverable @me.com

i've tried logging , out of account no luck.

friend sent test email morning directly @me account , took 4 hours arrive.

troubleshooting ideas?
