Is it pointless for me to get a 13" rMBP just because of more desktop space?

i've been eyeing 13" rmbp not because of retina screen, because of ability have larger desktop space air. defeat purpose of getting rmbp?

get want use want. buy tool want do, rmbp. you'll use scaling , have more space, you'll have more powerful computer better screen. thats win win in book.
