Setting up the Macbook for the first time

my rmb being delivered tomorrow.

can't remember how set current '12 mba few years ago.

don't plan turn filevault on nonetheless, understand laptop still "hang" 15 minutes while it's going through filevault process. i've read others sometype of clean install on laptop upon first turn on.

care post "recommended" first time setup might be?

i don't know 'recommended', if choose not enable filevault during initial setup, there's nothing it. booted 1.1 first time , went through setup process in 5 minutes or less. note didn't transfer existing data over, intents , purposes clean can be.
