rMBP 13" difference between 10/2013 & 7/2014

hi, thinking buying refurbished 13" rmbp 2.6ghz, dual core i5, 8gb ram, 516 flash storage. can 1 enlighten me on difference between oct. 2013 , july 2014 models beside 2013 being $40 cheaper. 1 more problematic other (flaking screen, faster fd)? plan on using lap top web browsing/streaming, light photo editing, storage music , movies. main computer.
though buying mb 12" 13" rmbp looks better deal. have mid 2009 13"mbp.
advice appreciated.
 

if difference $40, there spec difference in terms of ssd size, ram capacity etc.
