LaCie Setup or Disk Utility + Bootcamp Inquiry

hi,

i've bought lacie d2 thunderbolt 2 use rimac. i'm unsure way format drive; should go lacie's own setup software, or should use disk utility?

also, i'm planning use part of disk windows 8.1 (bootcamp), therefore i'll format ntfs through windows setup software. although, should format part fat32 through os x before formating ntfs?
 

i use disk utility.

boot camp assist needs done windows work when run it.
