Difference between old card and 4K scaled?

is there difference in image quality between running older graphics card native @ 2560x1440 , new 4k graphics card scaled 2560x1440?

i'm awaiting delivery of gtx 750ti dell 4k screen, , old ati radeon in mac pro 4,1 runs screen @ 2560x1440.

there improved image quality scaling down 4k rather native 2560x1440?
