managing storage on new macbook pros

new , have purchased first macbook pro retina today of love bits - however, whats best way of managing storage space machine have comes 128ssd.

installing programs, using photos , music etc going cause space go - how other users deal limited space ?

keep apps , critical user files on internal drive , use external drives additional user files, including photos, videos, music, etc.

freeing drive space in mac os x
