New Photos App For External Large Library

i have aperture library 100gb , more residing on external hdd (referenced file).

think advisable use new photos app such setup?

in addition, when import external aperture library, aperture library greyed out.
 

no 2 main reasons.

photos still in beta, wouldn't trust library beta software ever, , want see period of stable operation of public release before switching.

and

photos isn't replacement functionality in aperture - i've migrated capture 1 pro instead , haven't looked back, c1 better aperture (or lightroom imho) @ raw processing , comparable aperture in managing library, referenced or managed.

aperture library greyed out? sounds same library, can't import 1 library itself, mean? if not perhaps screenshot?
