i've had late-2013 rmbp time, , bt home hub 5. both support 802.11ac. network set 2 distinct ssids, 1 5ghz , 1 2.4ghz. hub set, on 5ghz, allow "a/n/ac 1300", max setting. time i've noticed (by alt-clicking wifi icon in menu bar) speeds (relatively) slow on rmbp recently, compared when first got - used regularly "975mbps", etc, it's 150mbps 300mbps. thing is, bought mid-2012 mbp daughter, , it's connected 5ghz network via 802.11n. when alt-click it's menu bar, tells me it's connected @ 450mbps! both macs sitting right next each other, connected same network/ssid. it's worth, hub set auto/smart channel (in case 48). mbp reports rssi of -44 dbm (the rmbp says -43 dbm). mbp has noise of -84 dbm (the rmbp states -93 dbm). idea what's going on? thanks!   Forums Macs ...

i bought 5k imac , been having drops , connection issues wifi. spoke apple , told me following: "open network preneces.. turn off wifi click advance under wifi remove wifi network (select network in list , select minus button below) save changes. open keychain access in utility folder.. click system on top left , click network on right , delete here too. turn off computer. reset router (even though working reset computer can new ip address lease)" did , still keeps disconnecting wifi. it's 100% machine's fault have tried in 2 separate locations, both encountering same issue. wanted see if had same issue before booking in appointment go , see apple in store! cheers,   it's problem yosemite. make sure update 10.10.2 - solves many issues. steps outlined apple need performed - seems location database gets corrupted somehow, deleting force...

using late 2012 imac running version 10.10.2, upgraded yosemite around november last year. i'm using 3 terabyte "fusion drive" 120 ssd built in. past month or so, computer has been running "slower" used to. more accurately, freeze processes, such itunes playing music or web browser, anywhere between split second , several seconds, without slowing down other more basic processes being run, such 4 corners, mouse control, , dock, , resume normal shortly after. today, freeze started normal, never stopped. after waiting 2 minutes or so, held power button down long enough computer turn off. booted computer successfully, selected user, , typed in password. computer got stuck loading user, after waiting 2 minutes, shut computer down , tried again. ever since then, boot never gets past halfway point on loading screen before shutting down on it's own, never reaching user page. googled problem , tried seemed obvious solution, disk ut...
