i have looked around , don't find same issue. don't want bore of details after time of owning new 27" 2012 imac internal hdd got flaky , died. every mac have ever owned had hdd die ready. have been running of externals forever , have boot drive cloned on weekly basis , rotate them monthly. latest problem drives take forever show @ boot whether or not set boot default or selecting on after post. once computer boot goes off weeds , can never awaken. when happens screen come on black never password prompt. can go far disconnecting drives without screen going blank. before pig became unusable tried of pram, nvram tricks , fiddled hibernation settings problem got worse. problem affects connected data bus; mouse, firewire, usb (don't have thunderbolt have adapter connected firewire 800 lacie external). know i'm going have take pig apple , fleeced , lied when want repaired. i'm curious if else has experienced total loss of connectivity of ma

help! have mac book pro 17", yeah bit old, looked after. have not had problems it. have maverick installed. today playing trying log onto internet, went restart - prehistorically slow. grey screen appears apple logo , and booting bar underneath take hour boot password , login page. input password , try log in loading circle , beach-ball cursor , nothing happens. restarted access ti disk utilities , fixed drive, nothing doing there, same thing happens. rebooted again , used panel install os system, again restarted , nothing!! hours on grey screen apple logo , booting bar, has stopped half way through. got nothing now? can me??? please feel free email me? can't work , in real trouble!!   your hdd dying.   Forums Macs Notebooks MacBoo

i have mid-2009 15" macbook pro. i've upgraded ram 8gb , hard drive western digital scorpio black 750gb drive, , week replaced battery first time. i'm quite proud of how it's been chugging along, considering graphic designer , put heavy amount of use on thing. it's time new laptop , options are: 1) buy updated retina macbook pro 13" now. 2) wait buy later year when/if macbook pros refresh. decision dependent on whether macbook pro line updated again in 2015. what's likelihood of macbook pros being updated year? is 13" rmbp updated again seeing how new model released? , if so, features updated current new model? if 15" updated, thinner/lighter current model?
