hello everybody! first time posting on macrumors long time follower. afternoon imac (late 2012 model, bought in may 2013 fusion drive 3tb, gtx 680mx) started being slow, "freezed" completely, thought chrome forced chrome restart still "freezing" after. restarted imac entirely, re-opened chrome , "froze" again. decided restart imac again never booted. looked online solutions, after booting in recovery mode, option in disk utility clic "fix it" or error detected without me pushing verify disk option. after had 120 gb ssd drive available, installed mac os on (took forever, not sure if it's because of hdd or slow apple servers) , did manage install mountain lion (not sure why installed version) , there managed hdd portion unusable. @ point went in recovery mode, went terminal manually set fusion drive back. booted mavericks old bootkey made, , able installed yosemite there. yosemite install did fail 3

i going day, running errands, , checking things off of to-do list have been neglecting past few days. checked twitter , had friend (who knows addicted powerpc macs) suggest stop specific pawn shop, had few imac g4 models out , sale. stopped by, saw dirty (very beat up) 15" 700mhz model going $30 , clean , in shape 17" 1ghz, 1gb ram, 250gb hdd model going $50. after making sure imac powered on , works properly, purchased , brought home. spent 30 minutes cleaning soapy water (being careful of course) , magic eraser. of marks , dirty spots came right off. still need little bit more cleaning it's enough now. after cleaned it, installed airport extreme card, wiped hdd, re installed leopard, , installed few "essential" applications. i've had 700mhz 15" imac g4 number of years, , although love death, i've longed 17" or 20" imac g4. wasn't going pay ebay prices 1 of these i'm glad found 1 price in town! here&

i bought macbook air in late 2013. first macbook, , satisfied it. battery life great, great. after 1 year warranty gone (for premium product, consider warranty bit less), problems started. battery sits @ 81-82% health, right after warranty over. can 4 hours of normal usage (web browsing safari). not know in situation, there way in can calibrate battery? first , last time when bought apple product. student, tried save money in order laptop after problems have had dell laptops, seems apple products suffer same issues, , have less warranty too. battery life extremely important me, , thought buy laptop function advertised (for number of 1000 cycles, battery should not go below 80%. did not go below 80%, sits @ 82% , performance weak in opinion) sorry apple, nice use products, me , friends not going buy them anymore, unfortunately. hope can find solution in order calibrate it, or something. not want pay replacement battery, because inst

i have been planing upgrade 2006 imac, because can (please don't tell me waste of money, aware ) soo, have upgraded firmware 4,1 5,1 ( allowing on 2gb ram , c2d cpu's) planed upgrades followed: * t7600 cpu (fastest 667 mhz fsb) *a cheap 120 gb ssd (limited sata performance 1.5gb/s) *also plan 2x 2gb ddr2 ram sticks. questions are, if t7600g cpu (unlocked multiplier) overclocking under osx possible ? (via custom kexts maybe ???) , after upgrading hardware plan use either chamelon or ml post factor upgrade 10.8 (64 bit kexts available ati x1600 gpu thats not issue) main questions are... booting 64bit kernel can past 3.3 gb ram limit (and possibly install 6gb ram chipset should support .) secondly overclocking options available me (both gpu , cpu) under osx? stated above cpu available unlocked multipliers , fans can move lot of air @ 3500 rpm , voltage control issue.... , x1600 overclocking atitraytool may work? maximum performance under
