anyone know why 2 brand new hd enclosures 3.5" sata drives , die within first 3 4 hours of being powered on? bought these brand new replace 2 previous enclosures. sata usb 2.0. had both of them working fine , plugged in powered hub. power supplys appear work fine, power lights on drives off. plugging them in usb results in enclosure trying draw power usb port instead of power supply. have plugged both supplys directly socket, lights on supplys on, nothing. 2 previous drive enclosures lasted 8 years don't think have hard drives eating enclosures. when working earlier tonight seemed fine. took me week , half these enclosures i'd rather not have send them back, find hard (and know seller find hard) believe 2 enclosures defective @ same time. got ideas?   i think defective... enclosures they? maybe there short-circuit , burned up. or maybe power jack solder joint broke.

i have early-2011 macbook pro. several weeks ago swapped out hard drive ssd , added 16gb of ram (purchased crucial), both of supposed compatible w/ model. since then, has seemed work fine. today surfing web, reading article w/ embedded video. of sudden video stopped working, if had lost internet connection. checked wifi drop-down, , looked strange. had text have never seen before "airportturnoffkey," etc., , no wifi network checked off. when looked @ browser tabs, acting bizarre (as seen in video). closed out of , noticed computer's menu bar blinking. force shutdown, restarted, , seems running fine. fan running. ran avast virus scan, turned nothing. video of haunting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqrcv0iu3ic ideas? have seen of strange behavior before?   signofthetimes said: ↑ any ideas? have seen of strange behavior before? click expand.
