mid-2010 macbook pro i7 2.66ghz 10.10.2 tl;dr: wifi has been turning self off turn on after reboot. after software troubleshooting steps (including re-installing os) looked see if there missing wire. thought wifi/bluetooth loose pulled up. bluetooth , wifi never work. last couple of months i've had intermittent wifi problems wifi turn off after wake, , give me "no hardware installed" message. took local apple certified shop. when brought in wifi wasn't working, when rebooted (an action fixes problem temporarily) , tested it worked fine. rep advised re-install os, , if didn't fix it airport card. re-installed os , reset nvram afterwards. decided open thing see if wire loose. noticed ribbon connecting airport card area the, think might logic board, might have been little "raised" on 1 side. took spudger thing got in little kit when installed ssd, , started prying 1 side up. came easy. noticed though connectio

hello everyone, upgraded imac 10.9 , updated imovie v10 (from v9.0.9). use sony dvmc-da2 import analog video signals via firewire, , import them imovie v9. had no issue doing in os x 10.8 imovie v9. however, along 10.9 upgrade updated imovie v10, import feature not seem firewire sony analog digital converter. video signal cuts in , out, , if stabilizes, audio lags on recorded content. not happen in imovie v9. happen in quicktime player x (but not quicktime 7 pro). assuming core functionality in 10.9 (that maybe both imovie v10 , qt x) rely on, culprit here? it's quite frustrating! has had experience or found solution? i've tried different cables , analog multimedia, have same effect. i'm hesitant try 10.10 @ point, assume may make things worse. mac specs: imac 2011 27" - os x 10.9.5 3.4ghz i7 / 32gb ram plenty of internal , external disk space   unless you've deleted

ok completely, hopelessly stuck on fence on one. few months ago upgraded 2011 i7 2.0ghz quadcore mbp, replacing optical 128gb ssd , buying 8gb of 1333mhz ram (about $250). upgrade wicked success , mac ran @ blistering pace. couple of weeks ago experienced gpu failure plague 2011 mbp's. bad, mac wouldn't boot , needed work files off of had shell out $250 guy reflow gpu (labour expensive in aus). understand reflowing isn't permanent solution, i'm running gfxcardstatus , smcfancontrol showing running @ lower temperatures , i've disabled discrete gpu. im still cautious whether fail again did first time , because need work files makes me nervous. plan running 100% right quite throw on ebay, looking @ sold items mbp same model similar upgrades go between $1000-1500. therefore cut losses on 1 , maybe little added put directly brand new 13" mbp retina 128gb ($1500) benefit increased portability. way no longer have 1 liabil

before knew pricing, me choice between sport in space grey, or ss blue leather loop. 2 things have changed. first, they've re-rendered blue leather loop , "bright" blue describe it. don't it. they've added black one. don't one, either. second know there's £180 difference between sport rubber strap , ss rubber strap. £180 what? different glass @ front (could tell difference?) , different (could tell difference?). sport lighter , space grey carries no price premium. , don't of straps ss. oh, , there's no distracting shiny silver band around screen. whole thing's black , screen glows out of it. lovely. plus, won't pissed off if apple watch 2 comes out next year , better. have spent £339 compared £529. space grey is. 42mm. 2 days late birthday missing here? else ss have apart regard invisible cosmetic/psychological differences?  

i had fresh re-installation of mac os x yosemite before install xcode , commandlinetools. seems have 2 versions of gcc , g++ in following 2 directories: /usr/bin (both files 14kb) and /library/developer/commandlinetools/usr/bin (g++ alias , gcc 19kb) type "which gcc" in terminal gives me "/usr/bin/gcc", did "which g++" gives me "/usr/bin/g++", , means system use gcc , g++ in /usr/bin so, questions are: 1. why have 2 versions of gcc , g++? 2. why gcc , g++ installed commandlinetools not specified default ones? 3. how ask mac os x point gcc , g++ in directory "/library/developer/commandlinetools/usr/bin"? btw, installed commandlinetools according following: http://railsapps.github.io/xcode-command-line-tools.html however, got different output typing "gcc --version" (difference hightlighted): configured with: --prefix= /applicati
